REVIEWED Dad Don’t Read This by Eliya Smith, directed by Chloe Claudel now playing at Greenwich House Theater, runtime about 95 min.
I’m running late to catch the tail end of the thrice-extended, off-broadway run of Dad Don’t Read This, a surprise NYT Critic’s Pick by 20-something playwright Eliya Smith and director Chloe Claudel. St. Luke’s Theatre is not quite a basement, but it’s not far from it. Once I settle on a metal stool the producer sets down for me on the periphery, I clock Jesse Eisenberg with his parents in the back. Next to me, a girl with a tooth gap tells me she’s working with a director who’s worked with Nicole Kidman. So it’s a hot show.
